"Every government interference in the economy consists of giving an unearned benefit, extorted by force, to some men at the expense of others."

"One of the methods used by statists to destroy capitalism consists in establishing controls that tie a given industry hand and foot, making it unable to solve its problems, then declaring that freedom has failed and stronger controls are necessary."

Ayn Rand

Rand put it best in her 1973 article, “Censorship: Local and Express”:

“The conservatives see man as a body freely roaming the earth, building sand piles or factories -- with an electronic computer inside his skull, controlled from Washington . The liberals [the Democrats] see man as a soul freewheeling to the farthest reaches of the universe -- but wearing chains from nose to toes when he crosses the street to buy a loaf of bread.”

Further on, she notes:
“…Each camp wants to control the realm it regards as metaphysically important; each grants freedom only to the activities it despises….. ‘Control,‘ to both camps, means the power to rule by physical force. The conservatives want to rule man’s consciousness; the liberals, his body.”

You Cowards!

I was about to post tonight on the virtues of Capitalism, but that can wait for another day. Our new Attorney General says that we are a "nation of cowards" because we don't talk about race enough. No, not the Daytona 500, he's talking about the color of your skin. Eric Holder (a black man with a black boss - that be Obama), says “We, average Americans, simply do not talk enough with each other about things racial.”

See Holder's comments here.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think we've been talking about race for a couple hundred years. I thought that was what the problem was. Whenever I mention someone's race, I'm called racist. Now when I don't mention race, I'm a coward. You can't have it both ways, Mr Holder. (This guy is going to keep me busy. He's also against the second amendment, so hold on to your guns.)

There is one word that best distinguishes America from the other countries in history - Individualism. As opposed to the collectivist notion that we are defined by the group we belong to - religion, economic class, race, etc. In America, each individual is a unique entity, able to define him or her self, and, at least until recent history, free to do with their life as they see fit. Have we had race problems in the past? Of course. Do we have race problems now? Obviously, if the top law enforcement agent in the country says we do. And he's part of the problem.

Mr Holder goes on to say we have a problem because not enough whites want to live in slums, where many or most blacks live. Well duh! I doubt very many blacks want to live in slums either. But as long as they depend on the leftist mentality of people like Barack -"I am my brother's keeper"-Obama and Eric -"You're all a bunch of cowards"- Holder, blacks will never rise above where they are.

I grew up hearing Dr King's words of how we should treat each other equally, regardless of skin color. Now that a black man has finally reached the pinacle of success, it looks like for the next four years we will get to hear how we are all sinners because people owned slaves in the 19th century.

This will be my last post on race. There are too many other much more important issues to contend with right now. But maybe that's the real purpose here. Distract us while they take over the economy. Not going to work!
