"Every government interference in the economy consists of giving an unearned benefit, extorted by force, to some men at the expense of others."

"One of the methods used by statists to destroy capitalism consists in establishing controls that tie a given industry hand and foot, making it unable to solve its problems, then declaring that freedom has failed and stronger controls are necessary."

Ayn Rand

Rand put it best in her 1973 article, “Censorship: Local and Express”:

“The conservatives see man as a body freely roaming the earth, building sand piles or factories -- with an electronic computer inside his skull, controlled from Washington . The liberals [the Democrats] see man as a soul freewheeling to the farthest reaches of the universe -- but wearing chains from nose to toes when he crosses the street to buy a loaf of bread.”

Further on, she notes:
“…Each camp wants to control the realm it regards as metaphysically important; each grants freedom only to the activities it despises….. ‘Control,‘ to both camps, means the power to rule by physical force. The conservatives want to rule man’s consciousness; the liberals, his body.”

A Shared Global Stage

The title of this post is from a local newspaper story on the recently concluded World economic summit. The headline was very appropriate because it was all a show. Starring that new darling of leftists the world over, Barack Hussein Obama. Unfortunately, we didn't know the price of the ticket until the end of the last act. This drama critic calls it a disgusting performance by the "Leader of the Free World". Mr O apparently no longer wants that responsibility. As much as I criticize FDR, at least he didn't shrink from leadership. BHO crawled on his hands and knees begging and apologizing every inch of the way.

The fact that the Europeans loved the show tells you everything. I don't want my president asking the rest of the world to forgive our sins. I demand that he and his pals in Congress apologize to the American people for this performance. It was embarrassing. Europeans are ecstatic to finally have a U.S president praising multilateralism, the Socialism and the U.N.

Give me a Cowboy president any day. All Cowboy Ronald Reagan did was bring about the defeat of Communism and the tearing down of the Berlin Wall. All Cowboy George Bush did for the World (after Clinton gave us 9-11) was remove a brutal dictator from power, marginalize the Taliban, hunt down and capture/kill world terrorists, guarantee European security from Russia, isolate the Iranian Theocracy (although he should have taken them out as well), and open up free-trade policies. Would you rather have John Wayne leading your your country or Rodney ("can't we all just get along") King?

Our 60 year reign as leader of Free World is over. It wasn't enough for Mr O to throw trillions down the toilet in our own country, he tossed in another $250 billion (for now) down the World's toilet as well. The French president calls it "redefining Capitalism". That's like having an affair with your neighbor's spouse and calling it "redefining marriage".

The New World Order is here. Be afraid, Be very afraid.
